Bad Weather Adds Further Delays To BT installations….

Bad Weather Adds Further Delays To BT installations….

Following severe weather, including gale force winds, heavy rain and flooding that caused damage to our network, both above and below ground, Openreach declared MBORC for repair activities, in six SOM areas, on Friday 27 December 2013, in a further three areas, on Monday 30 December 2013, and in four areas from 00:01 on Tuesday 7 January 2014.

We have been working hard to recover the position in these locations and can now lift MBORC from the following areas with effect from 23:59 Thursday 9 January 2013:

Belfast and Province (Northern Ireland)

MBORC for repair activities remains in place in the following areas:

Cumbria    Mid Wales and Shrewsbury    Swansea    Truro    North Wales    East Downs
Central Downs    West Downs    Esher    Croydon    Crayford   (MBORC reference MB08504)

North East Scotland    Highlands & Islands    South West Scotland    (MBORC reference MB08444)

Exeter    Taunton    Bournemouth    Southampton    Guildford    (MBORC reference MB08487)

In all cases we have been directing available additional resource into the affected areas in order to bring the position back to normal as quickly as possible.

We will be monitoring the situation and will remove MBORC from these areas as soon as service can be restored to levels they were at immediately before the severe weather.
